Just a quick update. Nick has been dying to play baseball and ever since the close of the season in June, we have been looking for somewhere for him to play. I even put his name out on the RMSB (Rocky Mountain School of Baseball) web site talent pool as someone interested in playing the fall season.
Nick is in a unique situation as most of his Spring team (Layton YoungGuns) play football in the fall so they only have a team in the spring. We only wanted to get on a team for the Fall.
Most of the coaches that we talked to were looking for someone to play long term which put Nick in a difficult situation.
At any rate, after a couple of prospects, last night we got a call from a coach that had lost a number of his players and is looking to fill some roster spots for the Fall for the next few years. This works perfect for us. When I told the coach about Nick, he said that he would put him on the team.
The team is going to be the Kaysville Raptors and it should be a ton of fun. Same deal as Spring but maybe not as intense on the practice side. We will play double headers every Saturday for 6 weeks beginning in Sept and then 1 tournament on UEA weekend.
