Big Day in October

Saturday, October 25th, was a big day at the Bushell house. Just to give a quick run down of the past 24 hours.

On Friday, night, we celebrated Nicholas's 10th birthday. We did it a day early because of all the other plans on Saturday. We wanted to make it special for Nick so we decided we would do it then. As is tradition in our family, Nick picked Rollie Pollies for his Dinner. (Cheese Ravoli's with Cream sauce) It was good and everyone enjoyed it. Then we had Cherry CheeseCake, (also Nick's choice) . Then Nick opened his presents. He had asked for a UniCycle and he got it. He has been trying since he got it to make it work.

Then Saturday rolled around. Nick played early this morning in his final Fall baseball game. He did really well and hit each of the 3 times at bat. I can't believe how much better he has done this fall.

After his game, we came home and spend the afternoon preparing for the Andrew's Baptism. Andrew was very serious about this big step and had a number of questions before we went.

We had quite the turnout to see Drew get Baptized.

Grandma and Grandpa Jensen, Laurie and Bruce, Ashlee and Briton, Gary and Michelle and their family, Kurt and Julie and their kids, Grandma Bushell, Tom, Kate, Ally and Tom, Brother Henderson, Brother and Sister Coombs, Kathy Davis, Wendy Passey, Maren Passey, Shelly Hansen. I think that is all but I could be forgetting someone. If so, I am sorry. Everything went beautiful and Stacey and Nick even played a song on their Violin's. Sarah sang a song that she had been working on. It was really nice.

Then after the big event, it was back to our house for the making of the Donuts. It's funny how there were even people that didn't come to the Baptism that showed up to try a donut or 2 or 5. This year they were as good as always. We even had a couple of BYU fans (Bob and John Passey) drive at reckless speed back from Provo just so they made sure they would get a donut.

It is always fun to mingle with our close friecnds and family and to eat some awesome soup. But it is the Donuts that make the day that much sweeter.
